Patch 2.47 now released, implementing all latest fixes, except for the similar ratman hunger icons and the Alvari reward of 3 ritual scrolls, which are all game engine issues that most probably also exist in the Russian version.

I haven't had the time for it, but I stumbled upon something interesting a while back, and it might rekindle some interest in the game. I guess many gamers are changing to mobile, so this might help.
I found a promising Android app called Exagear Strategies, with which one can play PC games on Android smartphones and tablets.
It's free to try for 3 days and then you'll have to buy the most suitable and properly working control interface to constinue playing, but that costs just a few £ or $. I think the one called Helium should work on Eador. This app was developed in Russia, so Jazz, you could probably find a Russian versoin somewhere. Anyone up for trying it out on their phone or tablet and seeing if it works as expected?

1.) Solution: I suggest replacing with "Receive 3 Sacrifical Altar buildings" or "Receive building plans for 3 Sacrifical Altars" to avoid confusion for future players .

I looked more closely at the "Kill a similar looking bandit and slaughter some lambs." dialog in entry /733
[EDIT] I was wrong about this Answer being inappropriate for dialog entry 734.
I suggest changing the text in the two dialogs to either:
Behead a resembling bandit and butcher a few lambs.
or
Behead a look-alike and butcher a few lambs.
(Answers have to fit within ~52 characters.)

There are people on this forum understanding English well enough whilst using Russian as main language. So feel free to communicate in English in the way you like. We may have troubles answering 'cause lack of practice, but it should not be a major problem.

I'm very sorry to disappoint you, but I know only a single word in Russian: "нет"
(oh and "пусто" from staring too long at var files, hehe)
All the rest comes from Google Translate and PROMT (hence the bad grammar).
Sadly, Satshanti (the lead translator for the English version, who has done an amazing job, much much higher quality than I could ever have done) is about to "retire" from his position (unless the appeal of this great game pulls him in for one more version!) As for myself, I have discussed with Kettarienne my frustration about the project. As a programmer, my main interest would be tinkering with the core/basic functions of the game, but I understand that this is not possible, because access to the source code is not an option.

It turns out that The Creator wrote whole game on for himself and he feels very shy of showing it to community.
I can't tell about legal issues since the game has official publisher, but Adrageron granted access to source code to some third party people like NH developers.
I don't know how it actually is, but it seems that source code is some sort of spaghetti-code and making changes to it is very painful even for Adrageron. It seems very similar to reverse-engineering.
About the idea to rewrite game from scratch he answered me that it is better idea to just make another game but not copying existing one. And I agree.

Ok. Snowbirds did rewrite the game from scratch. How much time they spent? Several years and still fixing bugs?
Without any game design experience it looks even funnier.
Playing with something like game resources and binaries looks like a good plan, but when you have responsibility for result it is time to think better before catching on.
Whatever I have already got the source code from Alexey himself and I'm going to have closer look on it. Briefly I can say that it is not so bad as Adrageron thinks about it, but for example AI part have hardcoded IDs in it. I'm not sure but it looks like nesting if-then-else's with ability id's in condition expressions.

I've changed it for now, but it will not be implemented next time, because it's impossible to enter spaces at the start of a database entry, which are segmented by dots, colons and semicolons.

I thought 5 was the correct amount. But I guess you're right. If it's a bug in the original, that should be checked.
It's both, in a way. The Gaming House provides a 1% increase, and the Casino brings 5 gold per turn.
The 1% boost is negligible on small maps.
