The closest thing to what you want is editing / modding shard_bonus.var
You remove the items which you do not want to get as a bonus in a shard there...

For instance if you remove the (188, 10) entries then the kobolds should no longer appear

I started the campaign with the standard settings (Smart AI 0). The first few shards were ok. Then the AI cheated on 2 shards.
Then I switched to Smart AI 1 but the AI seems to always cheat.

The problem has been described by others in several places. The AI levels up too fast. Its behaviour is out of sync with the appropriate difficulty level. Perhaps a workaround could be to adjust the difficulty settings. E.g. by putting the AI skill levels lower.
In CampDiff.Var we can make the AI gain skill levels slower while leaving the other difficulty settings in difficulty.var the same.

If the AI skill level is lower compared to the neutral units then the simulation should progress the AI more slowly (under the condition that the simulation compares the hit points etc)
Did anyone try out something like this?

It seems there were some interesting changes.

Edit: The 2 paths for the Elfs for example. If you don't know that you could think that the Elves got nerfed.
When hiring an Elf, you should choose a path, which is a free upgrade..

And it is very useful to counteract the problem when the AI comes with the cheated overpowered army.

I think I found a bug:

In the campaign on a shard I am besieging Oinor's home castle. My hero has a total siege strength of 17. But the foritfication level only drops by 1 point. And the progonosis tells that the siege will last 99 turns (or 98 the next turn).
So after the first round of siege the walls dropped down to 99 only and in the next round to 98.

On other shards this problem never occurred so far. The walls dropped by a reasonable amount. So the bug does not seem to occur every time.

Edit: Moving off the castle and getting back there worked. So the siege duration for breaching the wall was then 6 turns.

Would be interested in this too. Perhaps the campaign save file could be edited somehow. Unfortunately it is a binary file which is hard to read.

I searched the threads and it seems that the problem did not happen in version v2.50d but happened in all later versions.
Can somebody more experienced please confirm?

So, I guess it would be best to go for that version?
Unfortunately we would miss out on a lot of nice features that way as well...

another workaround would be to play a multiplayer hotseat game. You could just keep the second player alive and thats it. I did not try it but it should work

Dear all,

I am new to Eador new horizons (but I know a lot of other similar games)

thanks the devs/modders a lot for a great game. I enjoyed playing the campaign a lot.

... until I ran into the AI fast levelling bug. It does not seem to happen on every shard but still the bug seems pretty game breaking to me. Especially in the combination that the loading is limited in this game.
The AI seems to cheat heavily.

Which version would you recommend to play? Is it known since which version the cheating AI bug was introduced? Would that version have other problems?
